Cool report and awesome pictures (as usual) :)

The "Ol' Abandoned Passaconaway/Downes Brook Slide" is by far the most SCENIC way to hike Passaconaway (sure beats Dicey Mill!).

What a day you 2 had! Blue skies galore!

I agree with Frodo! (heh, heh) :D IMO, it's the most interesting & scenic route up Passaconaway. Cramponing up the slide was rather, umm... err... "sporty" as it was completely covered in a thick layer of beautiful ice (CRAMPONS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY!! ), but we were humbled by numerous frozen moose prints seemingly all over the slide! We contemplated whether or not there was a dead moose at the bottom (but weren't about to go back down & check!).

We were also pleasantly surprised to see fresh footprints on the Sleepers... and even more surprised to discover who they belonged to--three of the coolest, most genuine human bodies I've ever hiked with. :D  :p Artex is pretty entertaining, too.

As usually I kneel before Artex and Stinkyfeet and their superior hiking prowess. Btw, thanks for the shot of Waterville Valley. I was wondering how they faired with the recent rain and warm weather. I will be skiing on the 3rd & 4th.

Dicey Mill, I thought, was a really nice walk in the woods... pretty forest there. However, I'm itchin' to get up that Slide Trail. Eric? El'Bagr? Jessbee? Who's in on a long day??? :D :D :D

Artex & Stinkyfeet: Nice Hike, Nice Pictures, Nice Trip. Been lookin' at the same loop myself & you beat me to it.
