Trail Conditions: Pasture Path moist down low, 3 easy blowdowns (only ones of the day). Some patches of very soft snow (mush). Crescent Ridge similar to Lookout Ledge, some small areas of ice. Past the ledge, a firm monorail to V.D. Lowe trail where the monorail continued for a bit, then dry (only went for 0.4 miles). Four Soldiers Path has long patches of deep (2-3') soft snow in the upper 0.2 miles (as far as I went). No hint of a monorail. Sunk over a foot even with snowshoes. Water crossings all easy.

Special Equipment Required: For all but Four Soldiers, nothing necessary. The snow patches are brief so putting on shoes is more of a pain than it's worth. Four Soldiers, snowshoes are barely helpful - stinks no matter what you use.

Comments: Beautiful day, Lookout Ledge is a real treat.
