Sunday, 11/8/2009. Beautiful day for a hike, a much easier bushwhack than Vose Spur the previous day. Went up the ridge from the South West. A very well defined "trail" has been whis future NEHH hikes.hacked (apparently with a saw and pruners) through the flattish region just before the final ascent (and just before the memorial plaque to the hiker who died on the hike last year, which my hiking partners and I couldn't help but appreciate (even if disapproving of such illicit trail building) , give the extreme density of tangle and blowdown in this section. Number 72 NEHH for me, and eighty something for my hiking partner Jim. Good luck to Dan, whom we met at the trailhead and enjoyed hiking with, on his future NEHH hikes.
