Trail was in pretty good shape despite all the rain. Heading up Phelps was basically like walking up a stream as the sections above 3000 feet had a LOT of running water. Gaiters and hiking poles are a good option for these climbs. Views from the top of Phelps were fantastic. Tabletop trail was in decent shape as well, just muddy and wet for the most part. Lots of families out, but that might have been because of Memorial Day weekend. No ice or snow on summits and bugs were a minimum. Given the hot weather and rain, they should be in full force in the next few weeks.
