Trail conditions: Crawford Path to Pierce had a couple of wet spots..brooks were all running including some in the trail but over all footing very good..very little mud..From Pierce to Ike a little mud in the usual hollows but very easy going..Looks like big trail work coming up on Eisenhower loop as a big pile of cedar logs is in place..Edmunds path excellent at the top..pretty muddy and slippery through the hemlock zone..excellent footing down below..a couple of large walk around semi cleared blowdowns present no significant obstacle

Equipment.. only bugs were in the parking lot..windgear for Eisenhower which was pretty brisk..sunscreen and a pole helpful in spots

Comments..back up plan to the Kinsmans which we bagged due to expected wet and mud on Mt Kinsman Trail..settled on Pierce and were rewarded when driving through the notch to crystal clear skies with virtually no haze..The Views from the top were excellent today and we pushed on to Ike after making Pierce in no time flat..Fine day in the mountains with surprizingly little hiker traffic
