Crawford Path to Pierce was well-packed. Many blowdowns above Cut-off intersection. Area approaching Webster Cliff Trail intersection just below Pierce was heavily blown-in, as usual. Webster Cliff Trail to Mizpah was largely unbroken with several blowdowns, now broken out. Upper Mizpah Cut-off was a maze of blowdowns but most could be by-passed. It is now broken out. WCT towards Jackson had been broken out a while ago but was blown-in where we left it.
We wore snowshoes all day and they were necessary from Pierce down past Mizpah to the bottom of the Cut-off. Crawford Path to Pierce would go with just light traction or even bare boots.
Light snow all day with very limited visibility up high. Snow-laden trees at the top defied description, just beautiful. We had planned to head to Eisenhower but decided against it in the conditions. Fun time picking our way down to Mizpah in the deep snow with tricky trail finding.
