Started on the East Trailhead of Pitchoff, continued along the ridge, then crossed the street and hiked Cascade. Nothing too special to report other than the new conditions: This part of the ADK's is now free of most mud/snow and ice. Still windy/wintry on top, but special equipment below 4000 feet is definitely not needed. We had a nice view from Cascade, and it seemed as though most of the snow was gone wherever there was an open southern exposure. Still looked like a fair amount of snow in the woods though----we encountered some snow on Cascade, but nothing of consequence.
