There have also been serious problems with deforestation in the region--wood is the traditional fuel. This has resulted in increased runoff and soil erosion.

Yup, and they’re looking to remove bodies as well. :eek:

Climbers don’t have the most stellar reputation of policing their own trash and waste removal.

I say add an additional surcharge to everyone’s climbing permit to pay for independent trash and waste removal. Maybe Moody would step up and volunteer.

If they can’t or won’t do it themselves than make them pay for it.
