Trail Conditions This trail is now softly broken by a party of 2. While apparently one person had tracked the first mile or so, those snowshoe tracks ended abruptly well below Little Porter. We got off trail breifly multiple times, but not for long. If our path dead-ends for you, try our other track. The final 0.4 mile was tight with many overhanging branches, heavily weighted with frozen masses of icy snow, impossible to knock off. This required ducking under and around, over and over again. We finally retreated, a few feet from the standard viewing area. Just didn't want to duck one more time. We had an ample dose of winter beauty and views for this day, and have been to the view area many other times.
Equipment Snowshoes. No ice anywhere on this route, except in the trees.
