A family of foxes has taken up residence at Marshfield base station and love to just trapes around the area including the kits. They seem to have no fear of people but the people are being warned to keep their distance and at least when I was there they seem to be heeding that call. Even so, damn are they cute. There were two adults and at least 3 kits that I saw.

"Trapes"?

Is that near the cog railway? I remember a fox standing next to my car when we dropped off a couple lost hikers at that parking area right down the road from the cog railway station a couple years ago. It then walked over to the two hikers. I suppose it was waiting for a handout, but we didn't linger to see what happened next.
