On saturday March 3rd we try our first presi traverse in one day. We where
supposed to be a big group (12), but many cancel due to the friday storm.
So we where only 3 (Rejean,Pierre,Jeremy) and we start our hike at 6:30
at the Appalachia parking lots (Valley way). The trail where not break and
it slow us a lots, at 9:30 we where at Madison hut. We lets our pack their
and summit Madison. Great view in every direction, mt washington-adam-
jefferson where impresive. After a fast hike down we continued til thunderstorm junction where we lets our pack and summit Adams. Again
great view, Madison hut look so small. Went down and continued to Jefferson,
the ravine where very impressive (king ravine, jefferson ravine, great golf).
No problem to reach Jefferson summit and Jeremy and Pierre where a bit tired
but fine to continued. I was not tired and leds the hike. Going up Clay was
tougher due to the snow and another 500 feet of ascent. We skip Clay summit and continued in direction of washington. Before the Cog rail junction
we had no more view and we follow the rail until the summit of washington.
At the summit we where in a big white out. We eat a bit and went for the
summit sign, no picture it was to cold and windy.
We decided to bail out via the rail until the base station and we meet
two others hikers from Boston who had summit washington on their way
down. Thanks again for the lift to Crawford Notch.
On sunday I went solo hiking and plan to summit Pierce-Eisenhour-Munroe-
Jackson. At the summit of Pierce it was very windy and again I was in a
white out. This time I decided to go for Jackson and I skip Eisenhour-Munroe.
Now I had 43/48 NH this winter and need only the 3 Bonds+Munroe-Eisen...
to complete the NH 48 this winter.
