Snuck out for a rare to me day hike, attempting Puzzle Mtn in Grafton Notch. Very cold day 8°f in the parking lot with -25°f windchill forecast above treeline. Only managed a few pics with my phone during lunch just below the summit.
There was a trace of trail in the trees below Picnic Ledge, but beyond that it was wind blown and trackless. It was approaching my turn around time when I reached the open area near the cave turn off so I dropped pack there and had lunch before heading down. I know it was only a few hundred yards to the summit, but I also know how hard those yards would have been heh. Next time...
