Race Brook Falls Trail from Rt. 41 to Mt. Everett (on AT)
3/24/08
Trail conditions: Bare ground, dry with leaves all the way to the upper falls. Then mostly bare with some sections of ice. There is ice in the ravine as far as Race Brook Falls campsite. From the campsite on, there is 1-2 inches of packed soft snow.
From the col up to the summit of Everett it is completely ice and snow free. Bare, dry rock or dirt. This is due to the southern exposure.
Special equipment: None. A hiking staff was helpful on the ice.
Comments: I wore non-Goretex trail runners and my feet stayed dry.
