Date of Hike: 3/21

Trail Conditions: Water Crossings no problem, even Lucy Brook. packed snow, though very slippery at times. Belly button deep during the 'whack.

Special Equipment Required: Used crampons, and snowshoes during my excursion.

Comments: The Red Ridge trail disappears after the second snowmobile trail (ascending). I followed the snowshoe trail , which just ended on the side of North Moat. Bushwhacked up side, but I knew better than to follow the previous trail (I've done it in summer and figured it just looked different due to winter).

There is a dead baby moose on the Red Ridge trail after the second snowmobile trail (it's not the real Red Ridge trail but the one I followed). It's still intact and there is a TON of moose activity around it, almost freaky. There is also an attack bird on the North side of North Moat too (woodpecker) That was truly a first for me (and Teddy, as he got assaulted but unscathed).
