With the moon in the sky, under 10 below zero, We meet Alg (Bob) in the Adk parking around 6h 30 m a.m. and my friend Pierre with Redfield plan.

15 minuyes later, Pierre, Junior and me with snowshoes We started from the lodge parking in a perfect snowshoes tracks. The same snow conditions after Marcy dam to Avalanche lean-too, 3" dry snow to Indian Falls junction, more and more snow after...bad surprise after Colden junction We saw only a grove from the nice snowshoes tracks 48 hours before. :(
We need to remake the same slow approach to Redfield path junction in over 12" of dry snow.

The game started at this point, over 2' of dry snow without solid base.

Junior tell me: "relaxe just take your usual pace with count your steps" :D

O K Junior, stay alerte, kick me if You see I am going outside of the path.

Every 500 steps, I put a mark in the snow and restart for an other 500 steps...

Good challenge near the big fall, but slowly by slowly, We catch the brook junction, the place where the path go in the left of the small brook.

From this place We was in 30" of snow, each step need to cut the snow with the ski pole, fortunately when we was a little bite more high the snow give a beter support....at this time I tell Junior " I think We have a chance to catch the sunmmit". :)

When I saw the level change and few time after I can see the small plaquette...Yes We win!!!! :)

Just drink few water, We need to go down slowly, the quadriceps were in fire and it is not the time to make a bad move.

We returned by the same way, (Arnold lake) and we arrived at the parking just before the dark time. (near 10 hours of big job but also very happy of this heavy day)

Special message to Cantdog: good new Redfiel path is broken, bad new Cliff was cover with too many snow. (sorry but maybe Junior will jave a plan to return before the new year!!!) ;)

Pinpin Junior.

P.S. For every people was tinking it is alway easy for Junior, the two last trip was very difficult but the game was between two ears..and We win!!! ;)

Alain, you (and that bunny of yours) de man! 2 feet of unconsolidated snow uphill to Redfield's summit. That is very, very hard.
