Very little mud from Loj to Uphill Leanto...even the notorious wet section coming from Lake Arnold, along the Opalescent before you get to Feldspar Leanto was no problem whatsoever. Didn't even need to poke around with trek poles. Herd path to Redfield was a bit muddy, but not bad. Stay in the brook as much as you can...fun walking on slabs and rock hopping. Great views.
Exited via Lake Colden -- trail from Uphill Leanto to lake was very muddy, but not as bad as Bradley Pond trail.
Waterproof boots a must (it's the Adirondack High Peaks after all). Gaiters helpful, but not essential. Trek poles a matter of personal preference...certainly not required given the conditions.
