Any tips for the bushwack or is it pretty straight forward?

I'd imagine there's a herd path? Looking at a topo it looks like you could just stick to the height of land, or is it real thick?

Thinking of joining my sister and friends on a 4 day backpack from Rt. 4 to Rt. 27 next week to knock off the 8 4ks in that section (before the possible view spoilage :( ).

We've doen it twice - here are links to our two trip reports that may help - basically it is a herd path but at spots can be overgrown a bit. Sort of two seperate bushwhacks - one to the clearing and skidder road - another to the summit.

You can do the bushwhack in one direction and then take the logging roads back to your car if you want.

I did the Crockers and Redington this way last Labor Day Weekend and had no problems. The herd path is pretty obvious IMHO on Crocker and really isn't difficult to follow to the clearing. It gets a little trickier there but isn't bad. The directions on B&G's site are good. I brought Mohammed's directions so I wouldn't have any problems getting back down Redington but this was not necessary as Mike P had recently upgraded the big wooden arrows on the roads.

Have fun!

Exactly what I needed, looks fairly straightforward. Thanks guys.
