So there's a "lost" waterfall called Redington Pond Falls in Maine. The Maine Delorme Atlas lists this as being 300+ feet tall, making this one of the state's longest cascade chains.

Has anybody visited this? Based on the Delorme Map, there's dirt roads that get somewhat close to it, although a bushwack might be required. However, the AMC Maine Mountains map indicates that this area is a military base. Another source (a wind farm project), indicates that this is a local attraction.

I was able to find a thread from 2006 with some info about this area, but I think I need more info before I try to make a visit: http://www.vftt.org/forums/archive/index.php?t-13643.html

There's close to zero information online, and I've never come across a picture of it. It appears to be even more elusive than everybody's favorite "lost" waterfall of the Pemi.

That road is, I believe, the access road to the Navy property. I think the DeLorme does show the gate on it. The falls are very definitely on military property, and it I would very definitely avoid it. See the Redington directions.

Pretty sure civilians aren't allowed on the military property there. Heard stories of people being escorted out.

At the AT crossing of Orbeton Stream (near the military property) there is a very nice falls. Not 300 feet nice, but pretty nice.
