I was driving up Hurricane Mountain Road this afternoon around 3:45ish and noticed an ambulance blocking the Kearsarge North trailhead and a fire engine with flashing lights parked near it...I went by about an hour to an hour and a half later and still the same. My guess is there was a rescue of some sort in progress?

I also saw rescue vehicles headed that way, but hadn't a clue where they were going or what was going on. By the time I am back in the office tomorrow after a field trip in Jackson, I'm sure news, if there is any, will have broken. I hope everyone is OK.

There is an headline in tommorow's Daily Sun. I do not subscribe so I will have to wait until tommorow.

According to the on-line version of tomorrow's Conway Sun, a woman broke her ankle at about 3:15 p.m. The story said the accident occurred on ledges about 1/2 way up. The headline is at www.mountwashingtonvalley.com but you need to be a subscriber to read the actual story.
