There isn't even a link to be found on the UL web page, but my dad caught this story in Friday's paper: "Injured hiker taken off Moat Mountain." The brief piece goes on to tell about an experienced 24-year old man who lost his footing three miles in, hurt his knee, and called for assistance on Thursday afternoon. That explains the bits and pieces of strange litter we saw on the trail on Saturday (which I mentioned in a "trail conditions" report). Where are all comments from the UL readers? Guess they had more important things to write against!
