Although this is a dog book, I'm bringing this to the attention of members because Ted Kerasote is an outdoors writer with great credentials as a climber, backcountry skiier and a winner or the National Outdoors Book Award.

Merle's Door is about a Lab pup that adopted Ted and their lives in a small Wyoming town near the Tetons. This is so much more than a dog book and at the same time the author of The Hidden Life of Dogs said this about Merle's Door: "It is no exaggeration to say that Merle's Door could be the best book ever written about dogs".

The book has excellent science and natural history woven throughout it and one of the more illuminating and at the same time wonderful books of its sort your ever liable to read.

I loved it!
In fact, I gave it to several folks for Christmas.
That dog certainly had a wonderful life.
I found it to be both entertaining and educational.
