Hi folks: I looked back in recent trip reports and don't see recent mention of the North Twin trail. I know it's been a dry summer in NH, as it has been here in MA--does anyone have a sense of or recent (early Oct) history of this trail. I'm nervous about all the many water crossings, but also hopeful that the water is low and passable given this year's low rainfall.

Thanks for any feedback!

oops, I just saw another post from 9/13 re N Twin...

said water xings were pretty easy because of low rainfall. If not much rain this week, I assume that will still hold true...

There is a well defined bushwhack trail that begins at the first crossing of the Little River. Follow that path, it rejoins the North Twin Trail past the second crossing. That way, you only have to cross the stream once.

And that third crossing is usually the easier of the three. There's a sandbar in the middle. I've actually never taken the 1st or 2nd crossing.

thanks....

I'll look for that bushwack trail. I got spooked doing this hike years ago in high water years during a spring rainstorm, during a particularly rainy spring (I was young and naive!) and ended up hiking North Twin "the other way." Thanks, you guys!

Crossings in early Sept were easy & it's been very dry since so tehy should be no issue.
