One of our projects for the summer is to convert our pit privy at Log Cabin ( located on Lowes Path below Mt Adams) into a batch composter, similar to what you would find at an AT shelter. If you are interested in lending a hand, read on please...
Sunday Aug 28 will be an all out effort to construct the new base, roof, stairs and to move the privy from where it now rests (75 feet away) and have the system operable.
Volunteers of all capabilities are needed. We will be meeting at Lowes store at 7:30AM, there is still some stuff that needs to be hauled up.
If you are hiking in the Northern Presis that day, and you can stop by and pitch in- that would also be very helpful- We need the most help around 11AM when we will pick up and carry the old structure from its old location to its new home
