road to long lake open (route 28/30)?

I was driving to long lake last weekend, when I came upon the hill going up to the museum in blue mtn lake. The traffic sign said route 30 close 12 miles ahead. I stopped at the top of the hill wondering if I should just do blue mtn instead. A car came from the north and pulled over right across from me. I decided to ask them if they knew if the road was open seeing that they just came from that way. She rolled her window down and said yes the road is open to long lake. I drove all the way to long lake and turned the corner. What did I see? A road block!! If she did not come from long lake why didn't she tell me. I added 24 miles and half and hour to my trip. Boy if she was still there when I retuirned I would have pounded on her hood! So, not wanting to repeat my mistake I will ask again. Is the road open?

the NYS traffic website doesn't seem to indicate any problems between blue mountain lake and long lake.
