Date of Hike: May 11 2016
Trail Conditions: Very wet and muddy. Lots of downed trees. The water crossings weren't difficult to get across. The first signs of snow were around 3100' but it wasn't enough to put the spikes on. The last 2 miles of the hike including the spur trail were the worst as far as ice/snow.
Special Equipment Required: Microspikes. We had one person in our group who didn't have traction, he was careful and made it but I suggest bringing them if you own them.
Comments: Beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky and NO BUGS!!! One of my hiking buddies is a meteorologist and said there was a good frost the night before, possibly the reason for no black flies.
