Rogers ledge hike;7-12-09.
conditions; mill brook trail was a washout.trail has a easy grade but with so much rain on sat. night it was hurting.Trail starts out nice but quickly turns into a grassy bog hike with rotted wooden footings becoming one with the mud. the mud was not the problem though, all the water was. Trail is not really maintained that much.Kilkenny ridge trail from mill brook to rogers ledge was fine[but a couple we saw in the middle of bog hell said it was a nightmare between mill brook and unknown pond ].No bad stream crossings and lots of blowdowns but nothing unpassable.
special equip; poles would help,maybe gaitors but the mudd was everywhere.
comments;its hard to be objective about mill brook trail right now.it needs about a month to become a trail again while it drys out.Add a hour to book time for this hike.
