Rt 16 Mountain Rd open?

Does anyone know if the mountain rd Rt 16 is open from woodstock to the artist house by the police camp? I want to go to Indianhead this weekend and want to know if I should maybe take rt 214 over to rt 16 or go through woodstock from 28.

It should still be open till November 1st.

Yes, it is still open. I used it yesterday, and as Tom mentions it should remain open until November 1, provided there are no early snow storms in which case it might be closed prior to that date.

edit. BTW the color is still changing in the clove, and looking nice. The summits in that area are now a bit past peak, but the views into the valleys and the lower slopes are looking nice. Foliage is good, but not great this year.

Thanks you guys are great. I'm heading up with my cameras. I was up there last weekend and saw colors on their way in so I suspect they are getting even more spectaular by now.

As you go up Rt. 16, look for this.

What is that? I figure it's none other than an eye indicating a view over the valley. It's at the pull off if I remember correctly? Last time I was up that way was during the knee deep rain Columbus weekend last year.
