Man did I luck out! A few days of rain lead to a mostly clear and sunny 70 degree day on sunday in the Santanoni's!
Trail was very sloppy from the road to the lean-to and then only periodic mud holes on the herd paths, mostly in the cols. But that's what boots and gaiters are for.. Stepping on amply provided rocks and logs the mud never made it above mid-shin. Just know that you'll be getting muddy and there's no need to whine.
Great weather led to great views from every peak! Pleasantly surprised. Did this as a solo day hike, the 16.4 mile round trip took a full 9 hours effort.
Essential gear includes waterproof boots, gaiters, and plenty of food as this is a calorie burner.
