Santanonis Sat 7/1

eddie and Eric are out to conquer Couchy, Santanoni and Panther (in that order) this Sat. 7/1. We are car camping (van with PA plates) at the trailhead and plan on being on the trail no later than 5:00am. Of course, weather permitting.

The bog trail to Bradley Pond, the swarming black flies and skeeters, the lack of water once on top, Couchy swamp, skin-eating krumholz, the never-ending uphill back to Times Square, the death-march gravel road on the way out - torture I look forward to.

Anybody interested in a day of ADK fun?, we'll see you there. We are average speed hikers, this is about 12 to 13 hours. Hopefully, Eric's #40, 41 and 42.

Can't right now, but am planning on doing that hike someday. When I do, I think I'll be wise to look back on your trip report for cues, and hearing just how "trailless" they are.

Done that hike in the winter with Oncoman,Rik and Eric. No bugs,no mud,
the swamp was froze and no dirt on the road. But it was very windy and
cold. It took us two attemp to summit all 3 peaks.
Good luck, I will do the great range traverse on Saturday.

I just made plans to hike Cliff, Redfield, and Grey. 6 remaining and the Santanoni's are 3 of them. I'll keep an eye out for future Santanoni trips since I don't want to do this one solo.
