9/02/06...After a month of doing peaks with a bunch of people on top (Marcy/Mansfield/Washington) it felt good to head back to less crowded mountains. So we did that wonderful loop, and even tought it was labour day week end, I guess the predicted weather kept people away. So we (me and my regular hiking buddy) took the scenic trail to Sawteeth. It was the first time that i did not go up by the Weld Trail and i loved it, the views on the lake are beautiful... the rest of the hike went on with no problem, we ate our lunches on Pyramid with the beautiful view... A lot of scramble up and down the different mountains.. the usual knee hurting downward scrambles... No rain at all all day!!
A good 11 hours hike (7am to six pm) at a steady pace...
