Date of Hike: 1/4/09
Trail Conditions: About six inches of powder over the top of consolidated snowpack.
Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes essential. No need for crampons. No poles needed--would only get in way.
Comments: We made it out to Scar Ridge from the bottom of the Loon Mtn. ski slope in about 3 hours. There were two or three places where we were doing some serious bushwhacking, but otherwise it was easier than coming up the ridge from the south side (Little East Pond). It was just under 8.5 miles round trip. Email me for more specifics.
