Paul M and I set out from Pinkham Notch about 9:15 on this lovely morning and joined the throng heading up Tucks. At the Huntington Ravine Trail we hooked a right. The crossing of the Cutler was as high as I've ever seen it, but we managed with the help of a trekking pole. At Raymond Path we encountered a group of three with whom we would plan leapfrog for a while.

Most of the early fog had burned off, and we had good views for most of the day. Just getting to the top of the Fan was a strenuous workout. We took a break and ate a little to fortify ourselves for the climb. And what a climb! I swear, it gets harder every time I do it (this was my fourth). I'm starting to think I may be getting too old for this nonsense. By the time we topped out, I was feeling pretty beat up. After a rest we decide to skip the summit. Instead we traversed the Alpine Garden, Lawn Cutoff and Davis Path to get over to Boott Spur. Done by 5:45.

Nice shots! The ledges look a bit slick. Cool to be up there and have the climbers doing their thing nearby.
