Seven Sisters loop via Lithia Springs > M&M > Low Place (Holyokes)
Date: 4/25/09
Trail Conditions: Trails are dry and clear of downed trees and damage from the December ice storm. Leaf litter is very deep in places, making some of the steep descents a bit slippery.
Special Equipment Required: Bring some sunscreen and a hat, the oaks and hickories aren't even beginning to leaf out yet and the exposed basalt along the peaks was an oven during the mid-day heat.
Comments: We saw trout lilly, trilium, bloodroot, spotted toad lilly, and gentian all flowering in the creek/stream bottoms on the lower slopes. Also, plenty of stout white, chestnut, red, and black oaks on the upper slopes.
