I was just wondering if anyone was planning on hiking in the Sewards on Sunday?
This is interesting....
through Sunday evening...
The National Weather Service in Burlington has issued a Winter
Storm Watch for the northern Adirondacks... from 4 PM EST this
afternoon through Sunday evening.
Moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall... will mix with and change
to snow by late afternoon... and continue heavy at times tonight
into Sunday. Snow accumulations of greater than 6 inches are
possible across the watch area by Sunday morning. The snow... combined
with gusty northerly winds of 20 to 30 mph will likely lead to
considerable blowing and drifting snow... and potentially hazardous
travel conditions.
And it that wasn't enough....
The combination of unseasonably warm temperatures... melting snow...
and around an inch of rain today will help to increase the threat of
flooding over the area.
...
In addition... the threat for ice jam flooding will increase on
today... as ice breakup occurs on rivers. Localized ice jams could
cause some minor flooding in low lying areas.
This is interesting....
