Hey everyone -
May have a couple of hours to hike with the family in VT this weekend. Can anyone suggest something on the short and easy side of hikes, somewhere between Montpelier and White River Junction, not too far from I-89?
Waterfalls and or views are preferable...around 1.5-2 miles RT would be good.
Thanks!

A bit west of White River JCT past the gorge in the village of Woodstock is Mt Tom. Nice little hike on well graded park like paths. The climb is minimal 500 feet in a mile and a half. It is in the Vermont Day hikers Guide. The trail is in Faulkner Park.

Even better. How did I not think of this? I used to work at the foot of the old ski area.

The loop around the Pogue is very nice.
