Skiers forced to bivy in Dix Mt. Wilderness

At 9 a.m., the men were located at the South Forks trailhead off state Route 73, 3 miles from their trailhead.

DEC Region 5 spokesman Dave Winchell said today the men were in good condition.

So was this a rescue?

DEC conducted a search, but the men were able to ski out on their own. They were found at a trailhead three miles from their car. So I guess it's not a rescue (though I assume they were given a ride back to their car).
