The road off Route 149 (Buttermilk Falls/Sly Pond Road) is now open. In order to access Sleeping Beauty you still cannot drive on the 1.6 mile dirt road to Dacy Clearing, it is closed to cars and you have to walk it from the large Hogtown parking area.
The trails are wet and muddy in spots. I hiked the trail clockwise via the approach from Bumps Pond. Once over the pond outlet, the climb for the first half mile up to Sleeping Beauty is messy. The trail is a running stream with some snow, mud and ice mixed in. If you don`t mind that, then that is a great way to ascend. On the way down I took the shorter route and although there were wet/muddy spots on the trail it was far better than coming from the Bumps Pond side.
Views from the top were very nice.
