Plan is to hike these tomorrow. Last up in the area (Blackhead Range) two weeks ago and snow was <1' low and about 20" up top. Was wondering if all the rain changed things. Thanks.
Well, they've changed from a couple of weeks ago but are mostly the same again. Hit Peekamoose from CR-42 today and the conditions were as such in a nutshell: thin snow cover up to 2000'; light snow over a hard crust of snow/ice between 2000' and 3000'; heavy snowdrifts of 1 to 2 feet above 3000' feet. Was windy up there so I imagine there's significant drifting on all the higher summits. Have fun.
