Anybody out there have any info on how bad the snow is near the Kank?

I'm thinking about trails like Lincoln Woods, Hancock, Greeley Ponds, Upper Nanamacomuk and such.

Wondering how bad the rain has wrecked things. Please let it snow.

Can't help with Kanc but about 4" fell in Twin Mountain over night C-Notch & tthe Avalon Trail also. The F-Parkway had it's share too. when you got down to around exit 29 (Thonton) it looked like they did not get any snow or very little.

Don't have first hand info on the Kanc, but I wouldn't write off the weekend. We have a skiable base in Milton that is still about a foot or more in the woods. There's an ice crust under the recent skimpy snow, but it's not as bad as it could have been. I would imagine that trails that are proximate to creeks and other streams could be pretty wet or icy, however. The Pemi jumped up on Monday and again today, and I don't think it was from the weight of new snow on the ice. :(

Which brings to mind this caution for the populace in general: THE ICE CONDITIONS ON NH's PONDS, LAKES, AND RIVERS ARE GODAWFUL (at least in the southern half). "Let's be careful out there."

Not sure if it's considered good for bc skiing, but I find the conditions for snowshoeing to be quite sweet! I was tooling around off-trail in the Church Pond area yesterday. There's a couple inches of powder over a very hard crust, which supported me completely (~200 lbs. with pack).

Same thing on Mt. Tom. Saturday, I bushwacked off the top and down the eastern slope. Except for a few steps, I stayed on top of the crust the whole way. :)

Happy Trails!

On 12/31 Pine Bend Brook Trail to Tripyramids was bare-bootable with no problem. Off trail was crusty, didn't quite hold 200lbs. No surface powder to speak of.
