Hi I will hike this saturday Tom,Field,Willey and Zealand. Some one
know if there is some snow up there!
Sunday I will hike Cannon-Kinsman. Someone went over there recently!
The Kinsman Ridge Trail had up to 4" of snow from end to end this past Saturday, The Twinway between Zeacliff and Galehead is also snowy. It's winter time up here. Edit: I mean down here.
Also lots of ice and standing water.
Thanks for the information and the pictures. I hope that the
snow accumulated more, my snowshoes are in my van since
two week and i can't wait to use them.
North and South Twin had about 4 inches of snow on the ground last Sunday, and it began snowing again around 6 p.m. Don't know how much accumulation there was then or since.
There was also some pretty lousy ice on some of the rocks.
Sandwich range, specifically the Tripyramids, had at least 2-4" of snow and lots of ice. Higher elevations had complete coverings.
Best to bring stabilcers, cold weather gear, etc for the hike. Better to have and not need it, then need it and have to turn around because you didn't have it!
I would plan on there being 6-12 inches of snow right now along the twinway. They have had very persistant upslope this week. This weeks rain and snow might change that though. -Mattl
