Went up from new parking area on Dugway Rd. to the southern 2 Moats via Moat Mt. Trail. The new route is, to say the least, overbuilt, and it seems somewhat longer than the original. The portion nearest the parking lot is rather muddy - it could use some stepping stones or puncheons.
The trail to South Moat is dry and beautiful. A few trivial patches of snow in the col to Middle Moat. No difficulties at all. No bugs (but I started at 9:10AM, before the little nasties woke up. But, I didn't see any on the descent.
No special equipment is useful or needed, except possibly a windbreaker on the open rock.
