Trail: Mt. Moat Trail, southern section
Conditions: The trail was in great shape except for a few blowdowns and the fact that there could be some reworking of the middle section on South.
Comments: Two hikers ahead of us individually saw a mother BEAR and two cubs on their trip up. A beautiful day for an early fall hike. In the cold of the morning air, some in our group forgot that the day would warm and were overdressed, unable to layer down enough. We had hoped to hike over to middle but enjoyed the south summit too much and had to head down rather than over.
