Played by the forecasts and was able to fit in South Moosilauke between a wet early morning and thunder showers late in the day. Midday mostly overcast with bits of sun. Summit seemed to be generating it's own cloud while I was there. Warm, but few black flies ---- go figure. Watch for ticks though, in the grassy fields at the bottom (a couple found me but I didn't feed them.) No snow left, just one patch of ice under a ledge. No serious blowdowns ---- everything a "go." But --------- I'm convinced that the guidebook distance for Glencliff Trail is under stated. Damn but that top third is a long slog!
