trails: beaver brook x-c, gale river rd., gale river trail, twinway
conditions: as would be expected after the traffic this weekend this hike was packed out from the parking lot to the summit. a nice dusting of snow on top with very minor drifting near the summit. water crossings all solid.
equipment: usual winter. wore snowshoes the whole hike.
comments: nice day. pretty in the woods with a coating of fresh snow. decided to take advantage of the packed trail and head to south twin alone as i have been turned back due to difficult unbroken trail conditions the last couple of attempts when combined with other summits. really smooth conditions today. was hoping clouds and fog would lift early and expose some views from the summit, but they didn't until mid afternoon. nice meeting ron and teddy and chatting at the hut. good day to be out.
