best day of the year. started up gale river trail at 12:20. up to galehead hut. no wind..just gorgeous. 48 but so sunny it felt hot. prior to the hut i could see my breath. went up south twin, i love that place. hadnt been up there since Kenny died there. past that hurdle now. I enjoyed the view, glad lots of people were up there. no wind..amazing. I headed to guyot, went to the southwest summit..simply amazing. not a speck of wind. not a cloud in the sky. lots of people on the trails today. I hung out there contemplating life and headed back to south twin. enjoyed the view again. back down to galehead hut for good conversation on the porch. talk about crystal clear. I headed down and put on my new petzl headlamp for the last 40 minutes and it sure works good. i love technology. brook crossings no problem today. I wish every day could be like this, I felt real good and like I could have hiked twice that far. very nice.
