Speckled Mountain in Evans Notch. Up via Blueberry Ridge Trail, down via Bickford Brook Trail.
No snow. A solid half-dozen or more blowdown on each trail - none difficult to negotiate. A good bow saw or axe will handle them (chain saws are illegal here). Trails a bit wet and muddy in a few places, but overall in good shape. Stream crossing near start of Blueberry Ridge got the bottoms of my soles wet on slightly submerged rocks.
Equipment needed - a light jacket/windbreaker - it was COLD this morning. A couple of deceased skeeters near the parking lot on my return when it had warmed.
Comments. The Blueberry Ridge Trail is a delight. Very well marked with cairns (cheers to the CTA). Lots of views, especially from the loop view trail. Huge number of, what else?, blueberry bushes promise a very slow climb in August. The Bickford Brook Trail is as mellow a descent as one could wish. A delight for old knees.
