Date of Hike: May 30, 2009
Trail Conditions: Perkins Clearing and Jessups River roads are open and passable (with care). Yellow trail and NPT trail are clear of blowdown, dry in some places and muddy in others.
Special Equipment Required: Bug spray
Comments: We went in to check out Spruce Lake Leanto#2. My brother is the new leanto adopter. The leanto is right on Spruce Lake, a short walk from the NPT--a very pretty spot. Leanto is usable but has a few problems with its floor. We found a small amount of trash and picked up lots more at Spruce Lake #1 on the way back. Carried two Hornbecks on this trip and had a nice, but very windy, paddle around Spruce Lake.
