Trail has 2 inches or so of fine powdery snow covering all the bumpy frozen postholes. Between Starr King and Waumbek trail has 2-5 inches of snow over the ice, depending on the specific section.
One major blowdown maybe 2.3 miles in...big ole' tree lying across the path. We had much fun climbing through all the branches to get to the other side of the trail.
Gear: microspikes or the like for lower sections of trail up to Starr King. Snowshoes would make life easier for the trek between Starr King and Waumbek, though they're not absolutely necessary.
