I'm heading up to start a 5 day vacation in the Whites to bag some 52 WAV and Y-Alpine peaks.
Day 1 - Saturday 7/28
We'll meet at the western trailhead of the Carr Mtn Tr, on Clifford Brook Rd off Rt 25, and leave a car there. Then it's over to Doe Town Rd to the Stinson Mtn Tr for an out-n-back. After returning, we'll drive north up Stinson Lake Rd to the Three Ponds TH where we will start our traverse of Carr Mtn. According to the new edition of the WMG (and info I've gathered here) we shouldn't have too much trouble following the western half of the trail since it's recently started to get more trail mainentance.
Stinson: 3.6mi/1400'/~3hrs
Carr:6.5mi/2100'/~4.5hrs
Intending to hike at a moderate pace - around book time probably.
Anyone interested?
