From : Thompson Lake trailhead in The Nature Conservancy's land. Trailhead is plowed.
Route: Not marked or signed in any way but you can see the firetower from pretty much anywhere in Pine Plains, NY. The trailhead (one out of a couple) is on Lake Road which can be accessed via Rt 82 or Rt 199.
The route is about 3 miles round trip on some wide roads.

The route is better counterclockwise as it's a more gradual climb. The route past the firetower is pretty steep as you drop off the ridge real fast and it is like 4-5" of snow over ice which was from tue-wed's ice event..
